In a recent feature in Metroland Now, Jamel Mosely discusses his recent acquisition of the Whiskey Pickle, the iconic bar in Troy, NY. After the bar's unexpected closure, Mosely stepped in to revitalize the space. Known for his entrepreneurial ventures like Collectiveffort and Upstate’s Cold Brew, Mosely is focused on preserving the bar's unique, inclusive atmosphere while adding new energy and opportunities for creativity.
“It’s been called a dive bar, it’s been called an upscale bar… you can spend three dollars, you can spend 300 dollars. Nobody really knows what this place is – including ourselves; we didn’t know what it was gonna be.
We just knew we wanted to open a bar because we like people, we like booze, and we like entertainment.”
With a commitment to community, live music, and local art, The Pickle continues to serve as a vibrant hub for Troy residents and visitors alike.
